Research is a vital component of the Law School community and a vibrant research student community is key to our mission as a leading centre for learning and research in law. Members of academic staff are therefore pleased to be approached by prospective PhD candidates about the kinds of research they can supervise.
The option to undertake a research degree will be of particular interest to those looking to an academic career where a research degree is rapidly becoming a prerequisite. Many of our PhD graduates have in recent years been appointed either to lectureships at UEA or at other institutions. The legal professions also regard these qualifications very highly and students will find that these degrees provide a large number of transferable skills beside the subject specific knowledge they will acquire.
