Virtual Meeting Room

video conference suite

The specialist skills of the technicians has been put to use in the Virtual Meeting Room. There has been an increase in demand for virtual meeting spaces recently and this facility allows users to try the environment with the security of knowing technical support is nearby. The room is fitted with a Tandberg IP video conferencing system as well as a dedicated PC and webcam to allow Skype calls. We can also support video conferences through ISDN.

The room can hold up to 16 people.  The camera attached to the Tandberg system can be adjusted so that the shot will show all members of larger groups to be visible, or focussed on one or two people. The webcam will allow up to 3 people to be viewed on screen during a Skype call.

Some members of the University community use virtual meeting rooms (or virtual classrooms) regularly and have created their own spaces locally to meet their specific needs. If you are interested in developing space in your own area but don't know where to start then contact us for advice and support.
