Teaching and course materials

Unless done by non-reprographic means or for the purpose of setting examination questions, copying for teaching at UEA must either

comply with the relevant licence, if there is one, or

comply with Section 32 of the Copyright Act, 1988 or

have the explicit permission of the copyright owner.

Our current campus-wide licences cover copying from most books and journals published in the UK, EU, Scandinavia, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. They also cover some US publishers, UK national newspapers, and most UK terrestrial broadcasts.

For copying beyond what is allowed under the general terms of these licences, for digitisation, and for copying for certain fee-based short courses, additional fees are levied on a transactional basis.

UEA Library provides a digitising service to staff who want to to make the Library's print resouces available via Blackboard to students. Further details about this service can be found on the Digitising teaching materials web page.
