Storage

All staff and students have a basic allocation of secure online storage for personal use. There are various options available for extending the allocation or setting up shared filestore for departmental or project use.

Personal filestore

All staff and postgraduate taught students are allocated 10GB of personal filestore. Undergraduate and INTO students are allocated 5GB. Research staff and postgraduate research students are allocated 50GB. This is held on central servers in a secure, environmentally controlled area, and regularly backed up. Since the storage allocation is held centrally, it can be accessed from any UEA machine, or when off site. Staff and postgraduate research students can extend their personal filestore by 10GB and there is a charge for this service. To register a request for extra personal filestore, contact the Staff Helpdesk with these details.

Shared filestore

Departments (faculties, schools, or central units) and projects may require larger dedicated filestore for shared use. There are various options available depending on need, and filestore is available in 50GB and 500GB units.
There is a charge for this service dependent on the amount of storage required, the length of time is required for, and any backup arrangements.
To register a request for shared filestore, download, print and complete this form, and send it to itcs.systemsteam@uea.ac.uk
