Planned service downtimes

Details of planned service downtimes are provided here. These downtimes are essential for maintenance of systems and for new developments and service improvements to take place. We will always try to consult with users to agree times when there is going to be the least impact on teaching, learning or the business of the university and we will endeavour to give as much notice as possible of any downtime.

  • Date: 07:00-09:00   9 Apr 2013

    Access to The Portal may be disrupted between 07:00 and 09:00 on Tuesday 9 April while the new Portal Open Athens authentication is installed. Please ensure that you have saved any work in Blackboard before this time. We apologise for any inconvenience caused


  • Date: 07:00-09:00   9 Apr 2013

    On Tuesday 9 April between 07:00-09:00 upgrades to the Wi-Fi network (including INTO & UEA London), and the wired network in student residences (UEA Norwich, INTO, Student Village, St Mary Court) will be taking place. During this period users may lose network connectivity for a short period. Network services across the rest of the campus will not be affected.


  • Date: 11 Apr 2013  – 12 Apr 2013

    Following the discovery of an incorrectly installed electrical switch that feeds electrical power into Data Centre 2 it will be necessary perform a series of tasks that will affect the electrical supply to the Data Centre on the above date. The Data Centre Team will be in contact with IT Service owners that have services running in Data Centre 2 shortly to discuss the effect of the work on their services.


  • Date: 14 Apr 2013

    On Sunday 14 April – as previously advertised in the Almanac - ITCS will be running a Low Level backup of systems. As a result many IT systems will be unavailable while the works take place. Priority will be given to getting key systems back online as quickly as possible during the morning, but some services may remain unavailable until the afternoon.
