The ITCS Desktop Services are working with Elsevier to resolve this.
Work around for users:
Windows users - right-click and "Save Target As" to their documents, then open it from there
Macintosh users - hold the button with the apple on the keyboard and click. It will bring up the "right click" menu, you then can select save link as/ target as.
