Audience response systems are a simple and easy way to increase student interaction and participation. Students respond using the handheld 'clickers' to questions posed as part of a PowerPoint presentation in lectures, seminars or tutorials, the results of which are immediately displayed as a graph. Audience Response Systems are equally useful for presentations, staff development sessions, schools work and public engagement.
"The main advantage of interactive voting is that it supports instantaneous, anonymous (as well as known) interaction between the presenter and the audience. As a result, lectures become livelier, the presenter can easily stay aware of how well the audience has grasped the ideas he or she has been communicating, and both the presenter and the audience can receive instant feedback from each other."
