Information about the system

What is the system:

Liferay provides simple publication and management of internet content (a web content management system or CMS) and the ability to present personalised information (a Portal)

A project is currently in progress to migrate School and departmental websites to Liferay, and to migrate The Portal to Liferay in 2013.

How to access the system:

Websites published through Liferay form part of the UEA website which is publicly available at http://www.uea.ac.uk/

The editor for creating content for the website is at https://lred.uea.ac.uk for authorised users. This also provides basic training and support information and updates on the project progress.

To get your access set up please contact the Digital Marketing Team with details of which section of the site you need to access to and you will be sent a user access request form to fill in and details of who you need to get to sign that form to authorise your access. Once this form has been received your acount will be set up and you will be informed via email.

Data owners:

Each department is responsible for the content within its departmental website.

Training and support

How to arrange training:

Contact the Digital Marketing Team to arrange training. During the migration project, training is being prioritised in line with the schedule of migration for the schools.

1. Help with using the Liferay System

Enquiries about using the CMS system should be directed to the Digital Marketing Team

2. Questions relating to migration

If your department has not started the migration process and wish to find out what is involved or if you need assistance wtih the process including the design of your site then please contact the Digital Marketing Team.

3. Conmunication to users and mailing list

The web team have a mailing list to keep in touch with cms users. Users are added to this list at the same time as their permissions are set up.
