Library Entrance and Exit Gates

We have installed new 'Speed Gates' in our entrance area.

 

Entrance gates

 
The gates are designed to allow easy access to the building
but please ensure you follow these simple instructions:

1. Always use your card to enter the building
Entrance gates into the Library building 
2. Either hold your card against the proximity chip reader
at the front of the gate
 Chip reader for reading the chip on campus cards
OR swipe in using the card reader on top of the gate  card reader to read cards without a chip in them. Swipte the ard along the strip
 3. Wait for the gates to open before entering. A green arrow will
appear indicating it is safe to proceed through the gate.
 Green arrow indicates that it is safe to proceed through the gate

4. If you are wheeling a trolley or pushchair or have bulky items, you must ask staff to hold the gate open for you
 

5. Children under 16 must be supervised at all times. You must ask staff to hold the gate open for them
 

6. Always seek help from a member of staff if you have any difficulties
 
 

Exit gates

This gate currently operates without the need to use your campus card.

Please ensure you follow these simple instructions:


1. Walk towards the gate
Gate at exit to the library which open automatically as you approach with no need to swipe campus card
2. Wait for the gate to open before exiting. A green arrow will appear indicating
it is safe to proceed
Green arrow indicates that it is safe to proceed through the gate

3. If you are wheeling a trolley or puschair or have bulky items,you must ask staff to hold the gates open for you
 

4. Children under 16 must be supervised at all times. You must ask staff to hold the gate open for them
 

5. Always seek help from a member of staff if you have any difficulties
