IT access problems

Question
I cannot log onto my computer
I am locked out
I cannot access my central file store or shared file stores
I cannot access webmail
I cannot access the Portal or Blackboard
I cannot access Athens or other Library e-resources

The Problem
If you are unable to access a UEA network resource, the problem may be that you need to change your password owing to a forced password change.  Please note that if a password has been entered incorrectly a number of times you may be locked out of your account.  Please wait 30 minutes before trying to gain access again or attempting to reset your password.

Changing your password off campus
Refer to Method 2 on the following Helpsheet for instructions on how to change your password online.
www.uea.ac.uk/password

If you are familiar with changing your password online, go directly to https://spot.uea.ac.uk/gui.

Changing your password on campus
The first time you logon onto a UEA networked computer you will receive an onscreen message prompting you to change your password.  Follow the instructions onscreen or refer to Method 1 on the above Helpsheet for a further explanation.

Problems changing your password
If you have trouble changing your password online and are able to wait until you come onto campus, it will be easier to use a UEA networked computer located in one of the IT areas in the Library, ITCS or ARTS buildings.  If you are a member of staff, you can also use a UEA networked PC in your office.

If you are unable to change your password successfully and require urgent access to your IT account, please contact your IT helpdesk on:

The IT department will NEVER ask you for username and password details.   Do not give them out under any circumstances.
