IT Areas:
Information Services provide several IT Areas containing networked pcs with commonly used software and printing facilities. Some areas are designated as teaching areas and are reserved for classes at specified times. You can check the availability of PCs on the display monitors located in the IT Areas.All PCs in Information Services managed IT Areas run Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. All pcs have headphones and microphone sockets fitted at the front. They also have USB front-facing sockets. The same software and desktop is available on all ISD managed pcs.

Printers:
Laser printer workstations are available in most Information Services managed IT Areas. Colour printers are located in the ITCS Floor 01 study space, Library Floor 0 (24 hour IT Area) and IT Teaching Area C (Arts 1.05). All Teaching Areas can be used for casual access unless they are reserved for teaching. Bookings can be seen on the timetable outside of the room.

** At weekends, this area is closed 30 minutes before the Library closes and internal access to the Library is locked. Access through an automatic door using your UEA campus card is permitted again at the time the Library closes i.e. 30 minutes later. All cards are enabled for access upon issue, however, should you have problems please contact the User Accounts / Campus card point at the IT Helpdesk (Library, Floor 0).
Teaching area bookings:
The areas designated as IT Teaching Areas / Sapce in the above table can be booked for teaching. All have projection facilities and a tutor's pc. Bookings for these teaching areas are displayed outside each room and they can be used by casual users at other times.Lecturers can check availability of the teaching areas using the Room Bookings Enquiry System.
Fault reporting:
To report faults in Information Services managed IT Areas use the online Fault Report Form. Alternatively, use the paper Fault Report Forms which can be found in the IT Areas.Other computing facilities at UEA:
Most schools provide computing facilities for their own students. Please ask your course organiser for specific details of facilities in your own school.Unix Services:
UEA has UNIX facilities for student and staff projects. In addition to the PC laboratories, some facilities maintain UNIX based research laboratories. These facilities are used for mainly research purposes but specific modules may require the use of these systems.Students with a requirement for a UNIX based computing facility should contact the Faculty computer manager.
