What is the system:
This system manages the database infrastructure for all CIS systems that use Oracle as the database management system. Oracle databases at UEA are managed within a common set of standards that determine the software installation, database layout and configuration, naming conventions and defines the key components that must be installed.
Administration options include database creation, managing storage, monitoring performance, user/security administration and managing backup/recovery.

Performance:
Work is almost complete on the move of database servers to the standard framework. In addition, there is an additional task to replace all Sun Solaris servers with Linux servers. These pieces of work should deliver an increase in performance and reliability.
