Checking your record and renewing loans

You can check your borrower record from Primo OneSearch and from the self-issue machines on floor 0 of the Library. The self-issue machines have instructions on the screen. You will need your campus card.

In Primo OneSearch select the option 'Sign in'.

You will be asked to identify yourself.

Instructions for UEA Staff and Students:

User ID/Barcode:

Enter your UEA IT Account username

Verification:

Enter your UEA IT Account password

Institution:

This should be UEA apart from those from Associate Colleges who should select their college

Instructions for other borrowers:

User ID/Barcode:

Enter in full the number below the barcode on the front of your campus card
(starting 28075…)

Verification:

Enter your date of birth (DDMMYY)  

Institution:

This should be left as UEA

The information that is available includes the following:

Loans

This tells you what items are currently issued on your card and when they are due for return.  You can also renew items from this screen.

Loan History List

This tells you what items have issued on your card previously.

Hold requests

This gives you a list of outstanding hold requests, and where you are in the queue; you can also cancel requests from this screen. To cancel requests click on request number and then click on the delete button.

Cash transactions

This gives you a list of fines and other financial transactions.

Advance bookings

This gives you details of any outstanding High Demand (Short Loan) Collection Advance Bookings

Messages/Blocks

These options tell you what fines you owe, what overdue books you have out, and whether any items you have requested are waiting for you. There may also be special messages from the Library for you.

Renewing items

Items on loan may be renewed as long as they have not been requested by another borrower. You can renew items from the Loans screen by either clicking on "Renew All" or by selecting the particular book that you wish to renew and then a renew option will appear.

If you wish to continue borrowing an item after a certain number of renewals, you must return it to Library Helpdesk Staff for checking before it can be reissued to you.  The maximum number of renewals are as follows:

Please note that High Demand (Short Loan) Items and Audiovisual Items (DVDs and videos) cannot be renewed and must be returned on or before the date and time due to avoid incurring fines.  These items can be borrowed again if they have not been booked by another borrower.

Renewals may be made by Primo OneSearch Self-issue machines or by telephone. Email renewals are not accepted. If you are unable to log into your account for any reason you must telephone 01603 592993 to renew.  All overdue items will result in fines.
