Entitlements and loan periods

Staff/PhD students/MPhil students/Institution staff/Associate staff:

20 books
3 return dates per year - SUBJECT TO RECALL
Books may be renewed from three weeks before the due date.

Master degree students/postgraduate certificate and diploma students:

15 books
6 week loan period (adjusted to cover Christmas and Easter breaks) and summer vacation - SUBJECT TO RECALL

Undergraduate/short course students/Continuing Education students/Students at Associate colleges:

10 books
2 week loan period plus Christmas and Easter breaks and summer vacation

Regional Federation Staff:

10 books
3 return dates per year - SUBJECT TO RECALL
Books may be renewed from three weeks before the due date

Affiliated Institutes Membership:

20 books
3 return dates per year - SUBJECT TO RECALL
Books may be renewed from three weeks before the due date
No access to High Demand (Short Loan) Collection, e-resources or Interlending

External borrowers (individual):

10 books
2 week loan period plus Christmas and Easter breaks and summer vacation
At the Librarian's discretion, upon written application and payment of a subscription fee.
No access to High Demand (Short Loan), e-resources, audio-visual collections or Interlending

External borrowers (institutional):

Subject to negotiation

7 day loan:

Books marked 7 day loan are issued for 7 days to all card holders.

High Demand (Short Loan):

An additional entitlement of 6 items for some borrowers.

Music scores:

A separate entitlement of 15 scores.

Renewals:

Items on loan may be renewed as long as no-one else has reserved them. Renewals may be made in Primo OneSearch after signing in in the top right hand corner of the screen;or by telephone (01603) 592993. Library Helpdesk staff can advise how many times it is possible to renew material. Fines will be charged for all overdue material. Items from the High Demand (Short Loan) Collection can only be borrowed again if the current borrower brings the items and their campus card to the Library and the item is not booked.

Curriculum and Resources Collection (CLRC):

In addition to the above entitlements EDU registered borrowers may also borrow from CLRC as follows:
PGCE students: 20 items
Staff: 30 items
The standard loan period for CLRC material is 6 weeks.
Some material has a restricted loan period of 2 weeks.
Material may be renewed if the item has not been reserved by another borrower.

Recalls:

Books issued for longer than 2 weeks are subject to recall at the request of another Library user. The due date of the book/s recalled will be brought forward and you will be contacted with two weeks notice. Please note fines for the late return of recalled books are higher.
