UCS staff and students

All eligible students and staff from University Campus Suffolk are entitled to membership of UEA Library You will need a UEA campus card to access UEA Library, to borrow items and to make use of the self-service facilities in the Library.

How can I join the Library?

You will need to obtain and complete a  V3 application form. Please return the form, together with a passport-sized photograph to your college library who will validate the form and send it to UEA Library.  A campus card will be produced for you and sent to your home institution library where it should be available for you to collect within 10 working days.  Alternatively, you can bring the authorised form to UEA Library.  Please note that at busy times of year we may not be able to process your application immediately.

I had a UEA campus card last year, do I need to renew it or apply for a new one?

You do not need to re-apply or to renew your campus card.  Your existing campus card is valid until the end of your course and so you can continue to use it to access the facilities in UEA Library or to borrow items, until the expiry date printed on the front of the card

How many items can I borrow?

Students may borrow up to 10 items at a time, normally for 2 weeks at a time.  Staff may borrow up to 20 items at a time.  All items borrowed must be returned to UEA Library.  Fines will be charged for late returns.   All Library users are expected to abide by the Library Rules.

Important information for staff about e-resource access (from September 2007)

Remote access to UEA resources for academic staff from UCS is limited owing to licence restrictions. We will provide access to resources as and when agreement is reached with the suppliers. For e-resources that are already available to academic staff, use the 'Teachers of Authorised Users' link from the EZ Proxy web pages.
Academic staff from UCS are also able to access our e-resources as "walk-in users" using our six designated open-access PCs on Floor 0 of UEA Library.
