The collection comprises the surviving papers of Joan Millachip, née Everest, and her husband Henry John Anthony (Tony) Millachip. Joan Everest was a cousin of John Hill and daughter of a colonial administrator, Eric H.H. Everest. The collection is composed largely of photographic material and includes albums of photographs descriptive of life in Singapore in the early 20th century, and of Tony Millachip's wartime service in the Middle East. Also in the collection is a bundle of correspondence of the actress Barbara Everest, Joan's aunt.
