If a student who receives US Federal Financial Aid withdraws from the University, a recalculation of US Financial Aid eligibility will be based on the period of attendance. As a result, the student may be required to pay money back to the US Federal Government from any Stafford or PLUS/GradPLUS loans that may have been received.
Should the University be required to repay funds received for tuition to the US Government, the student may be billed for additional fee payment to replace these funds.
Pro-rata refund calculations apply for any student who withdraws within 60% of the payment period. If a student withdraws prior to completing 60% of the payment period, the University will calculate any refunds based upon the period of attendance for the specific term. The last date of attendance will be the date confirmed by the Director of US Financial Aid; all calculations undertaken are performed in accordance with regulations set by the US Department of Education and will not be altered.
Please see the University's Return of Title IV Funds Policy [PDF, 35.9KB] for further information.
