MSc Brand Leadership
Hi! I am Alisa, one of the many Russian students who have chosen UEA as a university to get their degree from. The course I am studying is MSc Brand Leadership where me along with 16 other people from 10 countries are studying the peculiarities of the modern world overpopulated with brands. We learn what does a brand mean, what it stands for and how to make it successful in a highly competitive environment.
If you ask me why I have chosen this university and this course I most probably won’t be able to give you a logical explanation: there are so many factors that influenced my decision, which are no longer distinct now as I attempt to analyse it. To start with, I have spent three years studying my undergraduate degree at UEA, so I know the city and university pretty well. Secondly, the course I am currently studying received lots of favourable reviews, including those of my friends, so I had almost no doubts choosing the MSc programme. Although, I remember the day (almost 4 years ago) when I was nervously thinking about what and where I would like to get my bachelor degree. Then, I chose Norwich, basing my decision on a short visit to the city and brief dialogue with a member of UEA academic staff. Many would say my decision was absolutely irrational one, as I let emotions decide for myself. Now I can say that my intuition has never been better: Norwich is a good place to live and UEA is a good place to study. Should I say that I have never regret that my decision?
They say the world is a melting pot, I say UEA is a small version of it. Being here (at UEA) you are very likely to meet people from all over the world, learn the things you would never know. UEA provides an eye-opening experience: after some time here, you will never see the world in the same colours as you used to, it will become way more flamboyant, bigger yet so small at the same time. It is a 24/7 learning experience, and I am not talking about the actual studies. Yes, you are expected to study hard, to feed your curiosity with new information, to learn, to grow personally and professionally, but you also become wiser in so many ways.
In case you got bored of studies and the calmness of the city, there are plenty of opportunities to cheer yourself up varying from night-outs with friends to short get aways and long journeys to different places in the UK and/or Europe. Norwich is less than hour away from the coast, about 2 hours away from London and it takes only an hour to get to Amsterdam. So, don’t believe those who say they are bored to death in this city, they are simply too lazy to choose the way of entertainment most suitable for them at any given time.
If you are now searching for an ideal place to study in the UK I wish you make right decision, and I also hope to see you someday at UEA.
BSc in Business Management
Being a UEA student I have learnt to critically examine every issue, so I can form my own opinion on the question basing on the various approaches studied. Moreover, studying in a multinational environment develops a better understanding of cultural diversity and promotes a more complex attitude to different aspects. The flexible nature of the course allows me as a student to choose the subjects I am particularly interested in, which encourages my further specialization. Along with lectures, where the most recent topics are observed, seminars are an essential part of the majority of the courses. It allows students to develop a better understanding of an issue via discussions and examination of the real cases. Whenever students face any difficulties there is always someone to help. It could be Professors, if students struggle with the difficult issues or Teaching Office and Academic Advisors, who will advise students on a large variety of questions.
Apart from studying there is wonderful social life. Students living on campus have an opportunity to make many international friends. There are numerous Societies and clubs to join to meet people who share the same interests. For those, who are into sport there is an award-winning Sportspark providing various courses. Norwich itself is one of the safest cities in the UK with a very warm friendly atmosphere. I really enjoy its small streets, green parks, the atmosphere of tranquillity and pacification which big cities lack. However, when you are tired of such pace of life there is always an opportunity to travel around the country, to visit different cities.
As a whole, my years at UEA are a perfect illustration of that student’s years is the best time in humans life.
MA Development Studies
I chose UEA because of its high ratings in the field of International Development both in the UK and overseas. Excellent teaching program and studying opportunities as well as amazing lecturers involved in worldwide research have given me a unique chance to greatly enrich my knowledge in the field. Multicultural and interactive environment in the School also has helped me view development issues from different perspectives.
My studying at UEA has been unforgettable not only because of academic achievements. I would say that it has been a great life experience full of exciting events and acquaintances. I have met a lot of interesting people and made many international friends with whom I enjoy my time here. I am sure we will stay friends for life. There is a genuine friendly atmosphere demonstrated by all the members of UEA life that it is impossible not to enjoy your time. Living on campus situated in a picturesque place is highly convenient and makes your busy student life less complicated.
As for everyone, student life can be sometimes challenging, especially if you are a foreign student used to a different academic culture. But be sure you will definitely enjoy your being here!Approved UEA agents in Russia:
