2010 UK TUITION FEES
The University of East Anglia will be charging £3,290 for all full-time undergraduate programmes starting in 2010 (inc. PGCE).
Tuition fees are an annual cost which normally increase each year with inflation. You should multiply the tuition fee by the number of years of study that you intend to undertake in order to estimate the total cost of fees for your studies.
Undergraduate courses that won't cost £3,290 in 2010:
- Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Nursing and Midwifery; fees for eligible students will continue to be covered by the NHS Student Grants Unit
- The first year of the Science with a Foundation Year programme and Medical Foundation Year programme (both will cost £1285 for the year. This is the 2009 figure, 2010 figure is yet to be confirmed)
For information on bursaries for the BA Social Work please visit the NHSBSA website.
Defer Fee Payment
Where tuition fees are payable, they don't have to be paid before or during your studies. Tuition fees can be taken as a loan - Student Finance England will pay the University on your behalf. You pay the loan back once you have finished studying and are earning over £15000. For more information visit our student loans page.
We use the extra funding in bursary and scholarship awards for students, enhancing the quality of teaching and research, and improving the infrastructure and facilities at UEA.
Other Costs
While at University, most students expect to incur costs associated with travel, text books and other course materials.
Certain courses, however, involve additional expenditure on the part of the student which we consider it helpful to highlight in advance, to enable you to budget more effectively. Some of these costs will be for specific items prior to the start of the course, others may involve costs while studying. In some cases, funding may be available from the University to help with these additional costs.
Where a degree involves a period of study in another country, travel and accommodation costs will be incurred. Exact amounts vary according to location, method of travel and lifestyle choices.
Some courses will involve fieldwork outside the University, the purchasing of specialist equipment, or undertaking a Criminal Record Bureau check (when the course involves contact with the young and vulnerable).
In all cases it is worth contacting the School of Study you will be joining, to find out if there are specific additional costs associated with your course.

A condition of the Roberts money is that it must be used to support ‘new’ training activities and not simply used to support existing provision. ‘Training’ does not necessarily indicate a ‘course’ but can be an activity that enhances the student’s or postdoctoral researcher’s experience.
