UEA Water Security's Seventh International Workshop on Hydro-Hegemony
UEA's Water Security Research Centre and the London Water Research Group are set to present the Seventh International Workshop on Hydro-Hegemony this weekend, with over 100 people attending from all over the world.
The event, 'HH7: Contesting Hegemony', will bring together a cast of researchers, activists and practitioners who aim to deepen and broaden understanding of hydro-hegemony. Those attending will be encouraged to openly, critically and creatively question how destructive transboundary water interactions, and constrictive dominant ideas, can be contested.
Discussions will be geared toward answering particularly questions on hydro-hegemony, such as the following:
- How do we challenge entrenched, malign forms of hydro-hegemony?
- Can counter-hegemonic movements do something other than reproduce hegemonies?
- How does mainstream, conventional thinking influence water security and distribution?
Information on the event can be found here - https://www.uea.ac.uk/watersecurity/events/hh7 - or you can download the programme, here.

The event is free and all are welcome, but registration places are currently all taken. Those who still wish to attend can contact firstname.lastname@example.org with their name and affiliation, and will be contacted should a place become available.
