Leading global news agency forges links with DEV media course to provide internships
The Inter Press Service (IPS) news agency which specialises in globalisation and development issues has linked up with the the School of International Development to provide internship opportunities for current Media and International Development students at UEA.
The collaboration comes courtesy of a former DEV student in Media and International Development currently working for IPS, the prestigious news agency with offices in New York, Rome, Johannesburg, Bangkok and Montevideo.
One current student on the Media and International Development postgraduate course at UEA (known as MAMID) has already been accepted on an internship in the New York office. MAMID students have always been relatively successful at securing internships and work placements. In recent years MAMID student have had internships with the UN in New York, UNESCO in Bangkok, the BBC in Norwich, Video Volunteers in India and TV Borjomi in Georgia (through ASA/GLEN).
