Dr Pieter Serneels makes contribution to the World Development Report 2015
DEV’s Pieter Serneels contributed to the World Development Report 2015: Mind, Society and Behavior.
Dr Pieter Serneels was key author of a background paper which was drawn upon for the report. The paper, on which Pieter worked alongside Abigail Barr (Nottingham University) and Andrew Zeitlin (Georgetown University), looked at participatory monitoring of public services by beneficiaries, focusing on insights from the education sector.
The report, published by the World Bank, holds new insights on how people make decisions – providing a framework to help development practitioners and governments apply the insights covered to development policy in order to tackle challenges such as increasing productivity, breaking the cycle of poverty, and climate change.
