Biography
I am a postgraduate student interested in interdisciplinary research. I did a BA in Geography and Territorial Zoning at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM). Then I graduated from the University of East Anglia (UEA) with a MSc in Environmental Impact Assessment, Auditing and Management Systems which has been funded by “Talentos Universitarios” programme, lead by the UAEM, and “Becas complementarias” programme, lead by the Mexican Public Education Secretariat (SEP).
Recently, I am doing a PhD in Development Studies at the University of East Anglia, which is supported by the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico. I am principally interested in researching the roll of institutions over water management in Mexico, the impacts of policies over water resources and its consequent environmental, cultural and livelihood effects on the local scale.
Additionally, I am interested in water scarcity issues, vulnerability and risk, waste management, environmental, cultural, health, and social impact assessments.
I am a member of the Natural Resources, Environment and Livelihoods Research Group and the Political ecology discussion group, both at the UEA.
Reading, travelling and walking in diverse kinds of environments are part of my main tools to have a better understanding between the theory and practice.
