Biography

My PhD research is focused on exploring a mixed methods approach towards the development of a new measure of quality of life of Nigerian College and University students. The research is supported by the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency.

I have a MA in Development Studies from the University of East Anglia and a BEd in Guidance and Counselling from the Rivers State College of Education.

I have previously consulted for various government and intergovernmental organisations including the UN population Fund, the Commonwealth Youth Programme, Commonwealth of Learning and the African Union Commission. My country specific experience includes those in Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Zambia, with international assignments completed in Ethiopia and Algeria, as well as virtual research (qualitative semi-structured interviews via telephone and email) on South Africa.

I am currently co-editor of an anthology on youth policies and the African youth charter commissioned by the Open Society Institute. I write a personal blog at www.dabesaki.com.
