Biography
I obtained my “Diplom” (M.A. equivalent) in Political Science at the Free University of Berlin in 2010. I wrote my thesis on “Water Scarcity: Conflict or Cooperation? The Case of the Eastern Nile Basin”. Throughout my degree, I studied at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. and the Universita’ di Bologna, Italy as an exchange student.

Key Research Interests
Water Security, the Nile Basin, climate change, conflict and cooperation over water and other renewable resources, sociological and anthropological conflict theory, East Africa.
Current Research
The current title of my dissertation is “Conflict Transformation Within Water Scarce Environments: The Case of the Nile Basin”. My thesis focuses on water security issues and the impact of climate change. I analyze in which way water security and climate change influence social conflict or cooperation within Nile Basin societies. I am based at the School for International Development and my research is funded by the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.
