Biography
I have worked in a variety of roles within the non-government and government sector with a focus on humanitarian action and policy development, working in (or on) countries experiencing conflict and/or humanitarian crisis. Much of my career has focused on designing, managing and evaluating humanitarian relief and recovery programmes, and conflict prevention and peace-building interventions. This includes four years field experience and seven years headquarters experience in government (AusAID), non-government (CARE International) and multilateral sectors (UNICEF and UNDP).
My current research interests include using ethnographic approaches and a post-colonial perspective to explore power relations in the context of international interventions; to examine linkages between formal and informal conflict management processes; and to study power and gender relations within societies experiencing post-conflict or post-crisis transition.

Iraq, Macedonia and Kosovo, Solomon Islands, Indonesia, Uganda.
