We welcome applications for research degrees at three levels: Masters of Arts by Research (MA), MPhil and PhD.

Applications for postgraduate research degrees should be submitted, with supporting documentation, through our online application system.

Start dates
You can start your degree in October, January, April or July each year. We strongly recommend that you make your application as early as possible.

Application deadlines

The deadline for UK and EU applicants who want to start in October 2013 is 08 July 2013; however, if you wish to be considered for a studentship we must receive your application by Monday 18 February 2013.

International applicants should familiarise themselves with any visa requirements and note that they will need to pay UEA a £2,000 deposit three months before their start date - and should therefore apply approximately four months before their desired start date in order to allow time for their application to be processed.
