Artists in Residence

The Leverhulme Trust and the Arts Council provide funding for Artists in residence.

UEA is keen to welcome artists who wish to work here, and be part of the research community at the Humanities Faculty and the School of World Art. The two major UK funders of these types of residences are the Leverhulme Trust and the Arts Council.

As the Leverhulme funding advice makes clear, it is a two way process: “the resident artist should work in an interactive way with the surroundings, and contribute recognisably to the life and work of the host department or centre.”

For these and other similar  funds it is the artist who needs to carry out the application to the funding source, however a close relationship with the University in compiling that application is vital.

If you are an artist with a suitable track record, and are eligible for these funds, and have a programme of creative work that you would like to carry out at UEA, then please email Peter Bloore, UEA Senior Lecturer in Creativity, at P.Bloore@uea.ac.uk to discuss it further.
