Senior Research Associate

£32,004 - £38,183 per annum

This BBSRC-funded project focuses investigating the structural activity relationships (SAR) of ‘small molecule’ metabolites, using a medicinal chemistry approach. The research involves the synthesis of flavonoid conjugates/metabolites for the purpose of identifying activity in vascular and inflammatory cell culture screens. The most active compounds will act as targets for systematic modification using natural and non-natural substrates in order to identify SAR, thus extending our understanding of how the metabolites interact with their biological targets. We are seeking candidates with interest/expertise in synthetic chemistry and SAR approaches.

You will have a minimum of a PhD or equivalent qualification in medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, or synthetic chemistry and be able to fulfil all essential elements of the person specification.

This full-time position is available immediately for a fixed term period of nine months.

Closing date:  12 midnight on 1 May 2017.

Apply for this post.
