£30,424 to £36,298 per annum
This post will support the main empirical research phase of the 'Vulnerability' work package which is part of the research consortium 'Strengthening Resilience in Volcanic Areas' (STREVA), funded by NERC and ESRC. This post-doctoral position involves field research together with coordination of project activities and communication with project partners. You will spend a total of 9 months in the field in Ecuador, Colombia and St Vincent on in-depth case study research on the social vulnerability of communities living around active volcanoes. You will have a PhD, strong qualitative research skills, fluency in the Spanish language and be able to satisfy all other essential criteria in the person specification for the post. The post is available from 1 September 2013, or as soon as possible thereafter, on a full-time basis for a fixed term period of 18 months. Closing date: 12 noon on 14 June 2013.
