Reconstituting a terpene metabolic pathway The postholder will contribute to a research project to elucidate a monoterpene pathway and to reconstitute this pathway in a heterologous organism. He or she will be required to clone plant biosynthetic enzymes, and then transform these genes into a tobacco host expression system. You must have a PhD in Plant Biotechnology and be able to fulfill all essential elements of the person specification. Specifically a candidate with an excellent publication record is required. Experience in transforming plants with plant enzymes is required, as is biochemical and molecular biology experience. This full time post is available from September 2013 for a period of three years.
