The overriding aim of this project is to quantify the role of halogen chemistry for the composition of the troposphere. To this end existing reaction mechanisms (gas and aqueous phase) will be extended and tested against available data. In addition, simplified reaction schemes and parameterisations for the use in large scale (including global) 3D models will be developed. The successful candidate will have a PhD in atmospheric sciences (or related), relevant research experience, experience in atmospheric chemistry as well as numerical modelling and be able to fulfil all the essential criteria of the person specification. This is a full time post starting on 15 July 2013, for a fixed term of up to 21 months. Closing date: 12 noon on 22 April 2013.
Further particulars and an application form can be obtained from the links below or by calling 01603 593493.
