This Senior Post Doctoral Research Associate will work with Dr Stephen Laycock and Dr Mark Fisher on a project funded by a Big C Scientific/Clinical Research Grant. The project is titled "Automatic construction of radiotherapy treatment shells: Pre-clinical feasibility assessment" and its primary aim is to investigate the construction of treatment shells directly from patient CT data. This project is in collaboration with Ipswich Hospital, Southend Hospital and University Campus Suffolk. The successful candidate will be involved in the development of algorithms to create geometric models which when fabricated by 3D printing will comfortably fit a patient's face. The algorithm must work from a starting point of the patient's CT data. You should have a PhD (or near completion) in Computing Science or relevant experience in computer graphics and image processing or related subject and be able to fulfil all essential elements of the person specification. We will also consider applicants with significant experience in software development and image processing. This full time post is available for a fixed term period of 6 months. Closing date: 12 noon on 1 March 2013.
Further particulars and an application form can be obtained from the links below or by calling 01603 593493.
