A competitive salary package is available for an outstanding candidate

The University of East Anglia is pleased to announce the creation of a new School of Psychology, which is being developed from its origins in the School of Social Work and Psychology. We are seeking to recruit an outstanding Head of School and Professor to lead the new school through a significant period of growth and to establish a world class reputation for psychology at UEA. Natural leadership skills are vital, as is proven success in managing teams.

The Faculty and the University are determined to achieve excellence in psychology research at UEA through new investment. The post-holder will provide strategic research leadership through the exciting development of the new School, while also working alongside an important new research centre, which will bring together highly regarded research active psychologists from the Schools of Psychology and Medicine.

We have a highly successful BPS accredited undergraduate psychology programme, which was ranked 3rd in the UK for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2011. We have an enthusiastic psychology team, committed to high quality teaching and an excellent student experience, and would expect the new Head of School to share this commitment.

The University has an established reputation for top quality research and teaching. At the heart of UEA's innovative thinking is the principle of interdisciplinary working. Psychologists work closely with other disciplines within the Faculty of Social Sciences and across the University. Situated on a striking modern campus, its outstanding location and creative atmosphere make UEA a special place to work.

To arrange an informal discussion with Professor Gillian Schofield, Head of the School of Social Work and Psychology, please contact her PA Eve Slaymaker e.slaymaker@uea.ac.uk
