European Union (EU) citizens living in the UK

If you’re a European Union (EU) citizen living in the UK, you and your family need to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme if you want to continue living here after 31 December 2020. Information on the EU Settlement Scheme (July 2018) and Frequently Asked Questions is available. A further briefing session was held at UEA for staff. You can watch a recording of this FAQ session, which was held in November 2018 (and access the presentation slides). Please note this is only accessible to UEA employees.

EU citizens and non-EU family members of EU citizens employed on UEA contract can register to participate in a Home Office pilot scheme to make an early application for settled and pre-settled status.  You can find information on how to register here

Please note the current pilot will close on 21 December 2018. Anyone wishing to take part has until midnight on 21 December 2018 to make their application. Any application submitted by the deadline will be considered

The Government have also confirmed that even if there is no deal, the EU Settlement Scheme will continue to be implemented as planned. This will enable EU citizens and their family members living in the UK to secure their status and continue to live, work and study in the UK on the same basis as they do now.

If you have any questions about your application during the pilot, you can contact the EU Settlement Scheme Resolution Centre on 0300 123 7379 (inside the UK) or +44 (0) 203 080 0010 (outside the UK).
