European Parliament Internships for History Undergraduates

Thanks to a partnership between the School of History and the School of Political, Social and International Studies, eleven HIS students will be able to gain work experience in Brussels during 2012.

The programme comprises:

  • Five one-month Policy Officer training placements (unpaid) during 2012, located in the East of England Brussels Office, which represents the region's interests in the European Parliament.
  • Six places for HIS undergraduates on a Brussels employability week programme, taking place during the 2012 Easter vacation.
  • History undergraduates will also be eligible for a number of short (unpaid) summer internships, on a full or part-time basis, with a local council, as well as ten places on a one-day study visit to South Norfolk Council to see and hear how local council services are run, to look at employment opportunities, and gain information about work experience.

This initiative also will be able to provide support and advice for students wishing to make applications for internships with other international organisations.
