Resolving Global Health Challenges Resolving Global Health Challenges

Our vision is to be a leading international, world class academic force in the field of Health Sciences addressing global health challenges of the 21st century.

Our research is growing year on year, with projects actively addressing real world issues and the effective delivery of healthcare services to bring about patient, clinician, policy and economic benefit.  Our research focuses on three main areas: Rehabilitation, Dementia and Complexity in Later Life and Health Promotion.

Expertise from a range of disciplines together with methodological rigour and innovative thinking underpins our commitment to conducting research of the highest standard.  The UK 2014 Research Excellence Framework rated 90% of our research in Nursing and Allied Health Professions as internationally excellent or world leading.

We offer students and colleagues the opportunity to be involved in research and translational partnerships. We are committed to nurturing talent and supporting our lively community of research students and staff. Our academia are always eager to hear from potential collaborators or prospective research students.

On 22 March 2017, UEA’s School of Health Sciences (HSC) held a Research Festival.  The purpose was to celebrate and promote the centrality of innovation and discovery for high quality healthcare education and delivery.  Students, researchers and academic staff presented their own work in oral papers, posters and with live research demonstrations.  It was a lively day that included panel discussions, research presentations, interactive research exhibits, keynote presentations and, very importantly, networking opportunities.
