Advanced Clinical Practice Framework - Neurology Rehabilitation (including Stroke)
A multi-professional team from the School of Health Sciences has been awarded £80,000 from Health Education England following a competitive tender process . The team have been commissioned to develop an Advanced Clinical Practitioner Framework for Healthcare professionals in adult services working in Neurology Rehabilitation (including Stroke). The team, consisting of joint project leads Kath Mares and Nicola Hancock, Neil Coull and Steve Smith, will develop a framework to develop and underpin a strong core skills set and speciality-specific ACP capabilities, to build the clinicians needed for future facing services. The year long, 5-phase project will see the University work with key stakeholders and Health Education England. The project will also see collaboration with other HEIs to ensure that they are ready to deliver the educational programmes, the framework will ensure that education undertaken in any institution in any part of the country will be comparable and mapped to the Centre for Advancing Practice requirements. The five phases will see the team scope the speciality area of Neurology rehabilitation (including stroke), build the capability framework, consult with stakeholders, complete the framework, complete an evaluation and make adaptations.
