Lifesaving course funded by cardiac arrest survivor
Three medical professionals have successfully passed an Advanced Life Support (ALS) course funded by a retired Essex businessman whose life was saved by paramedics and professionals from the NNUH.
Luke Chapman donated £900 in order to fund the course after experiencing a cardiac arrest. The paramedics that assisted Luke during the incident, including BSc Paramedic graduate Sophie Murgatroyd, were able to successfully resuscitate Luke and save his life thanks in part to Luke’s family and Norfolk and Norwich Hospital (NNUH) staff initiating basic life support.
