The Education in Health Research Institute builds on and expands existing research activity in the fields of medical education, interprofessional education, and education theory. Our focus is on high quality, multidimensional research and knowledge transfer relating to education in its widest sense.
It includes work on the nature of professional knowledge and its transmission as well as on modes of teaching, learning and assessment. In addition to achieving national and international recognition for our research activity, We also foster, evaluate and disseminate innovative practice in curriculum development and delivery.
In the 2008 RAE, research undertaken by members of the Education in Health Research Institute was submitted across 4 UoAs with 32% of this research judged to be world leading and internationally excellent and 73% recognised internationally.
