Researchers in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences are looking for volunteers to take part in their research into social anxiety.
Sarah Cooke, who is part of the team led by Professor David Fowler and Dr Sian Coker at the University of East Anglia, explains: “We want to compare social anxiety in participants with and without a diagnosis of psychosis in relation to current thoughts and feelings and previous experiences. This forms part of an ongoing research programme into the nature of social anxiety in psychosis; exploring the relationship between social anxiety and other factors in both groups may help to contribute to the theoretical basis for interventions.”
The team is looking recruit anyone who experiences significant anxiety in social situations and who has never had a diagnosis of psychosis.
Please contact sarah.cooke@uea.ac.uk for further information. Recruitment will take place from now to March/April 2012.
