The main goal of my studies is to compare the impact of equivalent doses of EPA and DHA fed either as fish oils or vegetable oil on plasma and tissue fatty acid enrichment and vascular performance in both a rodent model and a human pilot study.
Also, given the importance of lipid mediators as biomarkers of oxidative stress, inflammation and resolution of inflammation, my research it is focused into develop a method for the analysis of several of these biomarkers in biological samples.
These results are expected to give us a first insight of the physiological impact of plant derived long chain n-3 PUFA and a better understanding on lipid metabolism.
