Career

After graduation from Charing Cross Hospital Medical School (MB BS: 1982), I completed my training in General Practice before undertaking a Masters in Public Health (MPH Johns Hopkins, Baltimore, USA; 1989). On return to the UK, I completed my training in Public Health Medicine (1995), following which I worked as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at University of Liverpool, completing my MD there in 2005.  I moved to University of East Anglia in 2010.

Key Research Interests

My research interests are in paediatric and perinatal epidemiology. I have undertaken work exploring the changing prevalence of cerebral palsy across Europe, and in the outcomes of pregnancy, particularly among in women with diabetes, and from multiple pregnancies.

Teaching Interests

I have extensive experience in teaching and learning in higher education.

Currently I contribute to teaching and assessment on the MB BS programme within the Norwich Medical School, and am currently a PBL tutor in year 4 of the programme. In addition I am involved in the training of Public Health trainees within the East of England Public Health Training programme.
