Who's afraid of populism? (FULLY BOOKED)

Millennium Library, The Forum, Norwich

This event is now fully booked. You are welcome to come along and take a chance on the night - if there are any free seats at 7.25pm these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer any alternative seating if the event does fill up - so why not have an alternative activity in the city lined up in case you don't get in?

The election of Donald Trump, the threat of populists in France and the Netherlands – not to mention in Poland, Hungary and Turkey – has caused some to fear for the health of liberal democracy itself. Why are so many disengaged from or dismayed by their legislators and governments? Is populism a challenge or an opportunity?

Speakers to be confirmed.

These free events, held in partnership with Writers’ Centre Norwich, are open to everyone, and no prior knowledge is needed. The speakers will talk briefly and then the audience are invited to ask questions and offer opinions as the discussion opens up.

This year's series will be relocating temporarily to the Millennium Library at The Forum, while Dragon Hall undergoes renovation to open as the National Centre for Writing in summer 2018.

All events start at 7.30pm and should last until 9.30pm, or when the energy dries up!
