Please help your visitors by:

• Providing information on public transport and taxi companies with invitations to meetings or events thus avoiding the need to park altogether.  Why not ask attendees to share journeys?
• Arranging meetings for after 2.00 pm when there is less demand for parking. 
• Schedule regular (i.e. quarterly meetings etc.) to take place during vacation periods or reading weeks when demand for parking is reduced.
• Provide a Visitor Parking Permit (£5.00 unrestricted, £2.00 for activities commencing 2.00 pm onwards) enabling use of the designated Visitor Car Park Boiler House Roof.
• Make sure visitors know which car parks are available to them and what to do should parking prove difficult.  A leaflet is available from the Transport Assistant, the Lodge. The location of the Main Car Park and its shared use makes this our busiest area, the Central Car Park may be less busy.
• Remind visitors who will be required to pay for parking to have change available.

 The charges for short stay parking are as follows:

·         £1.00 per hour between 06.00 am – 2.00 pm Monday to Friday
 

·         Flat fee of £1.00 at all other times

Charges are collected by pay-on-foot in the Main car park and Pay & Display on the rest of the campus.  Please ensure your visitors are aware of the charges and the need to have change available.

Pay-on-foot machines fitted with a pre-pay button allow those paying the off-peak flat rate in the Main Car park to purchase their ticket on arrival.  

 Visitors may not be directly charged for parking where:
 

·         A visitor permit has been issued in advance or is collected from the host on immediate arrival.

·         They are occupying the guest suite

·         They are attending events arranged through the Conference Services Division

·         They are attending the Sportspark (during specific hours of operation)

·         They are attending an appointment at the Health Centre or Dental Department

·         They are attending UEA Court, Congregation, Arrivals Day or main University Open Days
