The building will be of Termodeck design constructed with cross laminated timber (the first time that this construction method has been used with Termodeck). It will be built using Passivhaus techniques and comply with BREEAM excellent certification. At 2000 Square Metres over four floors, facilities will include a Cafe, 280 seat lecture theatre, an 80 seat Harvard style lecture theatre and seminar rooms.Plans also include break out spaces, all with cutting edge audio visual technology.

Throughout construction a number of parking spaces will be lost in the west car park, post construction the majority will be back in use, as well as additional cycle stands.

Works are expected to be completed by mid-October 2013.
