Our grounds contain five County Wildlife Sites (recognised by Norfolk County Council as areas of local beauty or wildlife interest), as well as many other valuable habitats including: wet grazing meadow, a water soldier pond and the New Plantation area.
We also have many species living within these habitats, including redpoll, heron, whitethroat, kingfisher and green woodpecker. Otters have also been seen in the river and on the river banks and captured on film. Watch our Otters here.
In order to establish a baseline for action an 18 month biodiversity audit was completed in July 2011 and a detailed report will be available here in early 2012. Download our interim report here.
We continue to regularly monitor species diversity and population numbers on campus.
