All goods and services purchased generate waste and we are working closely with the Waste Manager to ensure purchasing contributes to waste reduction, reuse and recycling.

We are also implementing our Ethical investment policy taking environmental considerations into account.

 Our key objective is to minimise our consumption of non-renewable and environmentally sensitive resources by embedding integrated life-cycle approaches in our decision making through use of our Sustainable Purchasing Policy.

Our current target is to achieve flexible framework level 3 by August 2012

The flexible framework was developed for Government by the Sustainable Procurement Task Force.
