The Carbon Crew

CarbonCrew volunteers are our environmental champions. Staff and students give a little of their time to promote environmental issues and share best practice by for example, putting up posters, switching off lights, reminding colleagues to turn off computers and other electrical equipment when not in use. They are your local point of contact for help and advice on reducing your energy and water consumption, increasing the amount you recycle and helping you choose more sustainable transport options.

If you would like to volunteer please email: sustainability@uea.ac.uk or visit the CarbonCrew web-pages where you can also make a pledge(s) to do your bit to reduce our carbon footprint.

We hold quarterly CarbonCrew conferences providing training and updates, and regular drop-in lunchtime sessions for volunteers to socialise and discuss what actions are proving to be successful.

CarbonCrew members are also responsible for delivering UEA’s Green Impact Awards; an intra-university building and department competition, highlighting and influencing best practices and demonstrating much of the good work that is already happening. Our aim is for every building on campus to be part of the competition.
