The Thomas Paine Study Centre was officially opened on 8th April 2010 by playwright Trevor Griffiths.

The building's facilities include the most up-to-date technologies such as visualisers, interactive whiteboards and an innovative automatic temperature system, Termodeck.
The second phase of the project containing office and seminar space for NBS was opened later in the summer of 2010.
